Malaki ang ibinaba ng hospital bed occupancy rate ng mga pasyente ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) sa Metro Manila sa nakalipas na higit dalawang linggo, ayon kay OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David.
Sa kanyang update nitong Martes, Oktubre 5, sinabi ni David na bumaba ng 52 percent ang hospital occupancy sa Metro Manila, “confirming that there is indeed a downward trend in new cases in the NCR (National Capital Region).”
Gayunpaman, pinunto ni Guido na nananatiling “high” ang utilization of intensive care units (ICUs) na nag-aakomoda sa mga COVID-19 patients sa rehiyon “due to the long recovery time of patients.”
“According to (OCTA Research fellow) Dr. Benjamin Co, ICUs are always the last to be decongested due to the long recovery of ICU patients,”sabi ni David sa isang Twitter post.

Sa pinakahuling monitoring ng OCTA, nakitaan ng dagdag na improvements ang Metro Manila sa sitwasyon nito sa COVID-19.
“Low numbers over the past few days have pushed the seven-day average in new cases in the NCR down to 2,942, as of Sept. 28 to Oct. 4),”ani David.
“The last time the seven-day average was less than 3,000 was on August 10, five days into ECQ (enhanced community quarantine). The one-week growth rate is -27 percent and the reproduction number decreased to 0.76, with an error range of +0.06,” idinagdag niya.
Para kay David, manipestasyon ito na epektibo ang estratehiya ng pamahalaan at dahil dito,“it can be right to downgrade classification levels.”
