Maaaring maharap sa kriminal na kaso ang ilang matataas na opisyal ng Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation kasunod ng umano’y pangingialam sa expiry dates ng mga biniling face shields ng gobyerno laban sa pagkalat ng COVID-19.
Ani Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra, “tampering with the expiry date of a product is a violationof Article 40(a) of the Consumer Act.”
“A device [or a product] is deemed mislabeled if the labeling is false or misleading,” dagdag nito.
Layong protektahan ng Consumer Act sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7394 ang interes ng mga mamimili sa pamamagitan ng pagsusulong sa kaligtasan at pagtatag ng kalidad sa mga negosyo at industriya.

“The complainant may file directly with the prosecutor’s office, and if there is need for a case build-up, further investigation by the NBI [National Bureau of Investigation] may be called for, and the NBI itself may eventually be the complainant,” tugon ni Guevarra sa oras na may maihapag na sapat na ebidensya.
Nitong Biyernes, Setyembre 24, ibinunyag ni Pharmally executive Krizle Grace Mago sa Senate blue ribbon committee na inatasan siya ng corporate treasurer ng kompanya at ni secretary Mohit Dargani na baguhin ang expiry dates ng mga face shields.
“The NBI has directed its intelligence and regional service personnel to help in locating Krizle Mago of Pharmally,”sabi ni Guevarra.
