Nauna nang plano ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang paghiling ng negatibong antigen tests sa mga maghahain ng Certificate of Candidacy (COCs) ngunit tutol rito ang Department of Health (DOH).
“We don’t recommend the rapid antigen test kits to be used as screening for people, who will vote or for those joining in events,” saad ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire sa isang online press briefing nitong Lunes, Setyembre 20.
“As we said, the use of antigen test must be appropriate to avoid question to the results if ever we use it,” dagdag niya.
Sa Resolution No. 10717, hinihiling ng Comelec En Banc ang lahat ng maghahain ng COC na magpresenta ng negatibong RT-PCR test o antigen tests bilang bahagi ng hakbang laban sa paglaganap ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Sabi ni Vergeire, makikipag-ugnayan sila sa Comelec kaugnay ng resolusyon.
“We will be discussing this with them so that appropriate testing will be done in such events,”sabi ni Vergeire.
“The Comelec has been coordinating with us regarding their health protocols,” dagdag niya.
Inirerekomenda lang ng DOH ang antigen sa mga indibidwal na may sintomas, suspected o probable COVID-19 cases sa mga lugar na may pagtaas ng kaso ng virus.
Ang paghahain ng COCs para sa Halalan 2022 ang mula Oktubre 1-8.
