Ipinagluksa ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) nitong Linggo, Setyembre 19, ang pagpanaw ng “social change champion” Corazon “Dinky” Soliman.

Ang dating kalihim ng DSWD ay namayapa nitong Linggo, Setyembre 19 sa edad na 68.

“Secretary Dinky, as she was fondly called by her colleagues and employees of the DSWD, was a brilliant social worker and a devoted champion on social change,” saad ng DSWD sa isang pahayag.

“The DSWD family will truly miss Secretary Dinky. Apart from her notable accomplishments for the Department, she will also be remembered for her sunflower greetings.”

Sa pamumuno ni Soliman, naipanalo ng DSWD ang ilang mahahalagang batas kabilang na ang Magna Carta of Social Workers, Magna Carta for Women, at Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

Nanguna rin si Soliman sa implementasyon ng DSWD Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services, isang development program na pinatatakbo ng mga komunidad.
