Maglulunsad ng isang citizen movement ang mga taga-suporta ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio sa Lunes, Setyembre 13, upang manawagan na pag-isipan muli ang naunang desisyon na hindi na kakandidato sa pagka-pangulo sa susunod na taon.

Sa isang pahayag na inilabas sa isang viber group na ginawa ni Hugpong ng Pagbabago spokesman at dating Davao Del Norte Gov. Anthony del Rosario, inilarawan niya na ang HPS ay "pagbubuklod ng sectoral organizations at concerned individuals" upang kumbinsihin ang presidential daughter na tumakbo sa pagka-presidente sa susunod na taon.

Inanunsyo ni HNP chairperson Mayor Duterte nitong Huwebes na hindi na siya tatakbo bilang presidente dahil idineklara na ng kanyang ama ang pagkandidato nito bilang bise presidente.

“We will proceed with the HPS launching in spite of the recent pronouncement of Mayor Sara that she will not run for president because we still believe she is the most qualified to lead our nation for the next six years,” ayon kay HPS spokesperson at Bagong Henerasyon Partylist Rep. Bernadette Herrera.

Gayunman, kahit na nagdesisyon na ang alkalde, umaasa pa rin ang grupo na magbabago ang desisyon nito.

“We share a common aspiration – to effect true and lasting change for the country. We believe Mayor Sara is the perfect person with her personality and being confident, yet quiet and reserved pero palaban at may totoong malasakit para sa bayan," ani Herrera.

Ayon kay Del Rosario,nag-aatubili si Sara na kumandidato na nangangahulugangmay pinahahalagahan ito at hindi oportunista sa politika.

“She has consistently shown a gentle heart for her constituents, especially the common folk, and that to many Filipinos, is priceless. A style of governance couched by a strong political will and a thoughtful mind, which many of our citizens believe is what the country needs,” pagdidiinpa ng dating gobernador.
