Nasungkit ng batikang aktor na si John Arcilla ang pagkilala bilang 'Best Actor' para sa pelikulang '"On The Job: The Missing 8" sa direksyon ni Erik Matti, sa ilalim ng Reality MM Studios at Globe Studios, distributed by HBO. Sequel ito ng 'On the Job' na pelikula noong 2013.
Dahil hindi nakadalo, ang direktor na si Erik Matti ang tumanggap ng tropeo ni John. Ang pelikula ay kaisa-isang pelikula mula sa Asya na napabilang sa pinal na 21 international films na napasama sa kompetisyon. Si John umano ang kauna-unahang aktor na nanalo nito na nagmula sa buong Southeast Asia.

Sa kaniyang Instagram post, nagpasalamat si John sa pamunuan ng Venice International Film Festival sa parangal na kaniyang natanggap; kalakip nito ang isang video message na nagpapahayag ng kaniyang pasasalamat at pag-aalay ng kaniyang parangal para sa kaniyang pamilya, malalapit sa buhay, at sa mga Pilipino. May pamagat itong 'What a Cup full of LIFE.'
"Thank you 78th Venice International Film Festival. I can not put any words about how I feel today! This VOLPI CUP is such a symbol of a milestone in my work as an actor. Just like my cup of life which is so full of blessings outpouring from the heavens and I wish I can share this to all my loved ones who left us in this lifetime," aniya.
"This most prestigious award I received today lifts up my spirit to the Heavens and I am transforming this joy, achievement or victory or Honor into love so that the loved ones I am missing can feel my heart loving them. My heart is outpouring with gratitude to all who loved me and inspire me to where I am today and thanking God for putting them in my life."
Sa video message ni John, binigyang-pugay niya ang mga kaanak na sumakabilang-buhay sa panahon ng pandemya. Inialay niya ang kaniyang natanggap na VOLPI CUP bilang pinakamahusay na aktor para sa kanila.
"But some of them are gone. I wish I could have all… all the people I love and my victory in one cup, but nay as they say… Life isn’t always perfect. Maybe, I should settle in changing the meaning of a perfect life so I can both contain the triumph and the love, embrace and presence of the people I am loving and missing in one cup at the same time."
Pangwakas na talata niya, "It is easy to say LIFE IS BITTER SWEET, but it is still up to how we take which is more bitter and which is more sweet. What I have now is maybe the cup of what a perfect life is or maybe not, but what I want now is to kiss the smiles and wishes of all of you and the joyful memories of those who are gone to have this PERFECT CELEBRATION of a triumph of LIFE."

Ibinahagi rin ni John na nakatanggap ng 5-minute standing ovation mula sa lahat ang first showing ng On the Job: The Missing 8 sa naturang film festival.
Masayang-masaya si John dahil noong Setyembre 9 ay 6th anniversary naman ng kaniyang critically-acclaimed historic movie na 'Heneral Luna' kung saan kinilala rin ang kaniyang napakahusay na pag-arte at pagsasabuhay sa bayaning si Heneral Antonio Luna.
Sa ngayon ay nasa ilalim ng Star Magic si John, ang talent-arm management ng Kapamilya Network. Kabilang siya sa cast members ng 'FPJ's Ang Probinsyano' bilang isa sa mga kontrabida ni Ricardo Dalisay, na si 'Renato Hipolito.'
