Maaaring dumulog sa korte ang gobyerno upang pilitin angPhilippine Red Cross (PRC) na isumite ang kanilang financial records upang masilip ng Commission on Audit (COA).
Inilabas niChief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo ang reaksyon kasunod nang paulit-ulit na panawagan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay PRC chairman at Senator Richard Gordon na ilabas ang financial record ng humanitarian organization.
"For one,kung hindi kusa magbigay ngreport, we can go to court to compel them to comply with what the law asks them to do," pahayag ni Panelo sa isang radio interview.

Mananagot dinaniyaang PRCkungmabigong maiharap ang financial report nito, lalo kung hindi nila ito nagawa sa loob ng limang taon.
Dapat lang aniya na maipa-audit ng PRC ang pananalapi nito kung nais na patunayan na hindi hangad nito na "kumita ng sobra-sobra."
“If it truly has nothing to hide, then the PRC should refrain from coming up with imagined reasons why the Filipino people do not have a right to be informed on the business dealings of an entity upon which they have granted a multitude of benefits and exemptions,” aniya.
SENIOR CITIZENS, WALANG DISCOUNT SA RT-PCR TEST?
Nasilip din ni Panelo ang hindi pagbibigay ng diskuwentosa serbisyo ng PRC, partikular na sa kanilang COVID-19 testing matapos ipagmalaki ng organisasyon na nakapagsagawa na sila ng apat na milyongreverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests at ito ay 25 porsyento ng kabuuang pagsusuri na isinagawa sa bansa.
“Oddly though, the PRC conveniently failed to disclose that it hasn’t been forthright in its sale of services to the people,” pagkuwestiyon ni Panelo.
Nabigo aniya ang PRC na magbigay ng diskuwentosa mga senior citizen atpersons with disabilities (PWDs) kahit nasa batas ito.
RT-PCR TEST, PINAGKAKITAAN?
Paliwanag ni Panelo, exempted na nga ang PRC sa lahat ng bayarin at buwis, gayunman, mataas pa rin ang singil nito na₱4,000 sa bawat isasailalim sa pagsusuri laban sa coronavirus disease 2019.
“Taken in context with the more than 4 million RT-PCR tests that the PRC has conducted and multiplied by the price that it offered it at, which was at one point₱4,000, it appears that the PRC may have well indeed bagged billions of pesos in profits, in clear and apparent contravention of the law,” pagbibigay-diin ni Panelo.
Nag-ugat ang usapin nang pangunahan ni Gordon, bilang chairman ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, ang imbestigasyon sa umano'y maanomalyang pagbili ng medical supplies laban sa COVID-19.
