Bilang pinuno ng Simbahang Katolika, nakiisa si Pope Francis nitong Miyerkules, Agosto 18, sa kampanya para sa bakuna laban sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Paglalahad ng Santo Papa, isang “act of love” ang pagpapabakuna.
“Thanks to God and to the work of many, we now have vaccines to protect us from COVID-19,”mensahe ni Pope Francis.

“They grant us the hope of ending the pandemic, but only if they are available to all and if we work together,”pahayag ni Pope Francis sa mga komunidad sa North, Central at South America.
“And contributing to ensure the majority of people are vaccinated is an act of love. Love for oneself, love for one’s family and friends, love for all people,” paliwanag nito.
Naiulat na higit sa 4,370, 427 na ang binawian ng buhay mula nang lumaganap ang COVID-19 sa China noong Disyembre 2019.
Sa Amerika kung saan may naitalang pinakamaraming namatay sa COVID-19, malaking bahagi sa bilang ng mga namatay at mayroong severe na kaso ay hindi bakunado.
Kasama ng Santo Papa ang ilang cardinals at archbishops mula Brazil, El Savador, Honduras, Mexico, at Peru para sa kampanya ng Ad Council and COVID Collaborative at ng Vatican’s Dicastry for Integral Human Development.
