Kung nasa pamamahala ng dating Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales ang ulat ng Commission on Audit (COA) sa “deficiencies” kaugnay sa₱67 bilyong pondo ng Department of Health (DOH) para sana sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response, agad itong maglulunsad ng imbestigasyon.

Ito ang tugon ni Morales sa panawagan ng iba't ibang sektor sa Office of the Ombudsman at Task Force Against Corruption na maglunsad agad ng imbestigasyon sa usapin.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires na hihintayin muna nito ang buong report ng COA bago magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa usapin.

“It must be noted that the AAR contains several Audit Observation Memorandum reports, and at this stage of the proceedings, the Office of the Ombudsman will await the completion of the auditing process as the agency is given the opportunity to ensure full implementation of all audit recommendations to improve the financial and operational efficiency of the DOH,”sabi pa ni Martires.
