Ginawa na ring Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ang isangchapel ngQuezon City General Hospital and Medical Center (QCGHMC) bunsod na rin ng biglang pagdagsa ng mga pasyenteng may coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Ayon kay QCGHMC Director Dr. Josephine Sabando, ang converted chapel ay mayroong 21 beds.

“Our COVID-19 ward and ICU have already reached full capacity. With this extension facility, we hope to admit more COVID-19 patients who are in need of urgent and extensive treatment,” sabi ni Sabando.

“Once we positioned the beds and received the machines, we can start assigning doctors and nurses in the extended facility and make it fully operational,” dagdag nito.

Kaugnay nito, muling ibinalknaman ang ang outpatient department ng ospital ay muling binalik sa teleconsultation matapos itong gawing makeshift quarantine facility ng mga healthcare workers na nakabantay sa COVID-19 ward.

“We have also reached full capacity sa ating non-COVID ward and pediatric ward. Despite these, we will still admit urgent cases like trauma cases, vehicular accidents and acute cases of stroke as well as obstetric cases. Non-urgent cases should consult first through our teleconsult services para mai-schedule kung kinakailangan nila ng face-to-face consultation,” paglilinaw ni Sabando.

Nasa 300 beds ang quarantine facility ng QCGHMC bukod pa ang nakalaan na 4-bed COVID-19 dialysis unit para sa mga asymptomatic hanggang severe COVID-19 renal patients.

Nitong Biyernes, Agosto 13, umabot na sa 5,539 ang active COVID-19 cases ng lungsod.
