Pinag-iingat ng Department of Justice-Office of Cybercrime (DOJ-OOC) ang publiko laban sa pekeng email address na ginagamit ang pangalan ni DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra upang humingi ng donasyon sa pamamagitan ng iTunes gift cards para sa may sakit.

Paglilinaw ni DOJ-Officer-in-chargeCharito Zamora, ang email address na[email protected]ang gumagamit sa pangalan ni Guevarra upang makapangalap ng donasyon.

“The said email address was used to send messages to a number of recipients requesting assistance in the alleged procurement of iTunes gift cards as donations to patients at hospice care units across the Philippines, subject to reimbursement. In this regard, please be informed that the DOJ Office of the Secretary’s only official email address is [email protected],” dagdag niya.

Bunsod nito, hinikayat din ni Zamora ang publiko na isumbong ang scam messages sa concerned service provider upang ito ay maaksyunan.
