“There will be more precincts now than before because of the increase in our voting population. Plus, we have a (COVID-19) pandemic so we don’t want crowding,” aniya sa isang online forum nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 2.

“Before, we have about 84,000 clustered precincts. Now, our estimate is we will be having 100,000 to 105,000,” dagdag pa niya.

Aniya mayroong higit kumulang 800 na botante kada presinto.

“The registered voters in 2019 was 61 million. Now, we are already at 60 million," Sinabi ni Jimenez.

Sinabi na rin ng Comelec na ang mga botante ay maaaring bumoto nang may kumpiyansa sa darating ng Mayo 2022 dahil ang mga voting centers ay magiging ligtas sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“We have designed our polling precincts precisely to be COVID safe which means we will be prioritizing the use of large spaces so there will be no crowding,” ayon kay Jimenez

“There will be social distancing inside the polling places and in every voting center there will be health screening stations,” dagdag pa niya.
