Maghihintay ang Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) ng pahintulot mula sa pamahalaan para sa kanilang planong magbukas ng kanilang 46th season sa susunod na buwan.

Ayon kay PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, nakatakda silang makipag-usap sa Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) sa linggong ito upang humiling ng go signal para sa kanilang season opener.

“They (IATF) told us to prepare because the PBA opening will be part of the agenda in their next meeting within this week,” pahayag ni Marcial.

“Maybe this week, they will call us. We will present them everything so that we can finally start the season.”

Kapag pinayagan, ayon kay Marcial ay dalawang linggo lamang ang kanilang kakailanganin upang makapaghanda para sa plano nilang closed-circuit conference na idaraos saYnares Sports Arena sa Pasig City.

Napili nila ang venue ayon kay Marcial dahil ito ang pinaka-accessible para sa lahat ng mga kalahok na koponan na pawang nakabase sa Metro Manila.

“Once they approve our request, then everything will follow. We will immediately talk with the Ynares management and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto to fix things up.”

Lahat ng 12 teams ay patuloy na nag-iensayo at naghahanda sa kani-kanilang training camps sa Batangas, Pampanga at Ilocos Norte, mula nung payagan sila noong nakaraang buwan.

“Just give us two weeks upon the approval of the task force, then we can start the season,” ani Marcial.

“We’ll just prepare the TV coverage, dugouts and other logistical matters. Hopefully, we won’t encounter any more problems in our preparations,”dagdag pa nito.
