Marami ang nagbubunyi ngayon matapos italaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar bilang susunod na hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
“We confirm that President Rodrigo Duterte has signed the appointment of PLT. GEN. Guillermo Eleazar as the new chief of the Philippine National Police.” ayon kay Presidential spokesman Harry Roque.
Ngayong araw, Mayo 7, ang itinakdang pag-upo ni Eleazar sa bago niyang puwesto, kapalit ni Gen. Debold Sinas na magreretiro sa Mayo 8.
Paliwanag ni Roque, kumpiyansa si Duterte nanamaipagpapatuloy niEleazar ang mga reporma sa hanay ng PNP na inumpisahan na ng mga nauna sakanya, atmapamumunuannito ang PNP tungo sa patuloy na pagsulong.
