Ang Union Flag sa opisyal na tirahan ng British ambassador sa Manila ay inilipad sa half-mast nitong Biyernes upang magluksa sa pagyao ni Prince Philip, ang Duke ng Edinburgh.
Si Prince Philip, ang asawa ni Queen Elizabeth II at ama ni Prince Charles, ay namatay noong Biyernes ng umaga (Huwebes ng gabi sa Maynila) sa Windsor Castle sa England. Siya ay 99.
“The Union Flag is at half-mast at the Residence as we send our deepest condolences to Her Majesty The Queen, and remember with gratitude the remarkable lifetime of service of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” sinabi ni British Ambassador Daniel Pruce sa isang tweet.

Nauna nang nakiramay ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas sa pagpanaw ni Prince Philip, sinasabing ang mga Pilipino “share the grief of the British people in this period of bereavement.”
“On behalf of the Filipino people, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte extends his deep condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the passing of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque sa isang pahayag nitong Biyernes, Abril 9.
Nagpaabot din si Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. ng kanyang pakikiramay sa pagyao ni Prince Philip sa pamamagitan ng Twitter.
“Dear Ambassador Pruce, deepest sympathies for the loss of the British people and the grief of Her Majesty,” sinabi ni Locsin sa isang post.
Kaagad na tumugon si Pruce sa pamamagitan ng pagpapasalamat kay
