IMINUNGKAHI na muling repasuhin ng Kamara ang umiiral na negosasyon sa pagitan ng pamahalaan at water concessionaires na Maynilad Inc. at Manila Water Inc. kaugnay ng inamyendahang concession agreements.
Sa House Resolution No. 1664 na inihain niDeputy Speaker Bernadette Herrera, hiniling niya sa House Committee on Government Enterprises and Privatization at House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, na magsagawa ng legislative review.
Ayon kay Herrera, may karapatan ang publiko na malaman kung may mga pagbabago na ipinasok sa sinusugang concession pacts sa dalawang water concessionaires.
“In the interest of ensuring the best services for the Filipino people, and to further avoid any onerous contractual situations with the concessionaires, further consultation and good governance oversight must be conducted prior to the approval and signing of the new drafts,” pahayag ni Herrera.
