Sinabi ni Archbishop-elect of Manila Cardinal Jose F. Advincula na ang mga deboto ay dapat na manatiling matatag sa kanilang pananampalataya sa gitna ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
“I would like to ask the people to, in the midst of this difficulty brought about by the pandemic, to remain steadfast in their faith and to avail of the spiritual benefits given by the church even through virtual means,” sinabi niya sa isangrecorded interview sa isa sa mga pari sa Capiz na inilabas sa mediaMiyerkules, Marso 31.
Sa pagdagsa ng mga kaso ng COVID-19, pinayuhan ni Advincula ang mga mananampalataya na manatili sa bahay ngayong Semana Santa.

“We have to celebrate it as much as possible away from other people specially in Manila where there are many restrictions because of new cases, stay at home and be extra careful,” aniya.
Naniniwala rin ang prelate na ginagawa ng gobyerno ang makakaya upang tugunan ang pandemya.
“I think the government is trying its best to address the COVID problem,” sinabi ni Advincula.
