KASALUKUYANG nagku-conduct ang highly acclaimed screenwriter at novelist na si Ricky Lee, ng training sa more than two dozen writers mula sa GMA Network’s Public Affairs department. Sumama rin sa 12-week workshop ang ilang Kapuso Network’s executives and a pool of writers mula sa Entertainment Group.

Nagsimula ang in-depth workshop noong February 5 na Ricky shared his talent and insights kung paano gumawa ng stories for television and films that capture ang move the audience. Tinutulungan din niya ang mga participants para i-develop ang individual at group storylines nila.

Natuwa si Ricky Lee na naging very open and receptive ang kanyang mga workshoppers kaya naman na-excite at na-challenge din siya at the same time.

Itinuring na si Ricky Lee na isang visionary in the Philippine TV and film industry. Nakasulat na siya ng more than 180 scripts tulad ng Himala (1982), Salome (1981) at Brutal (1980). Madalas din siyang mag-collaborate sa mga directors na tulad nina Lino Brocka, Ishmael Bernal at Marilou Diaz-Abaya. Nakasulat na rin si Ricky ng mga libro tulad ng Trip To Quiapo, na a must-read for aspiring scriptwriters.

Ang GMA Public Affairs programs has been producing groundbreaking and innovative shows on TV, tulad ng Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Wish Ko Lang!, Imbestigador, I-Witness, Reporter’s Notebook at The Atom Araullo Specials.

Ngayon ay nagsimula na ring mag-produce ng innovative primetime drama series at sa ngayon ay napapanood ang rom-com na Owe My Love, sa GMA at ang time-travelling fantasy na The Lost Recipe sa GTV. At this year, nakahanda nang ipalabas ng GMA Public Affairs ang romance mystery na Love You Stranger at ang action-adventure Lolong.
