An Act Banning Minor From Full-Contact Competitive Sports).

Reps. Alfredo Garbin at Elizaldy Co.

“This HB bill is absolutely nightmare for combat sports. We can have a bill like this, yari tayong lahat, our sports program will go hell,” pahayag ni wrestling president at ipinapalagay na ‘Father of PH mixed martial arts’ Alvin Aguilar sa ‘Usapang Sports on Air’ ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) via Zoom nitong Huwebes.

“Sa aming NSA, we have street kids that we train. Eventually, nakapag-aral sila nakakuha ng scholarship and now a world championship medalist. It become possible because we start them trained in young age,” ayon kay Aguilar.

“The bill is redundant, because we already safeguarding our sports through technical guidelines and policy. Its additional layer of protection for the athletes,” sambit ni Managuelod sa lingguhang sports forum na itinataguyod ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), PAGCOR at Games and Amusements Board (GAB). “Running an NSA is a constant learning. We train them young under a strict guidelines and program sanctioned by the our respective international federation,” pahayag ni Karate president Richard lim. Nauna rito, nasgumite ng ‘Joint Position Paper’ ang kabuuang 13 contact at combat sports association leaders, sa pangunguna ni Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (PEKAF) president Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Kasama sa lumagda rin sa position paper ang mga lider at kinatawan ng Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines, Inc; Wushu Federation of the Philippines; Jiu-jitsu Federation of the Philippines; Muaythai Association of the Philippines, Inc.; Philippine Judo Federation; Karate Pilipinas Sports Foundation, Inc.; Philippine Taekwondo Association; Wrestling Association of the Philippines; Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas, Inc.; Sambo Federation and Philsilat Sports Association, Inc.
