PINALAWIG ang pagtanggap ng mga nominasyon para sa ika-apat na batch ng Philippine Sports Hall of Fame (PSHOF), ayon kay Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William Ramirez.
Ayon kay Ramirez, nagdesisyon ang PSHOF Board na gawing hanggang Enero 31 ang deadline para sa pagsumite ng mga nominasyon sa naturang parangal.
“In light of the continuing pandemic, the selection committee have decided to extend the nominations to give equal opportunity for the public to submit their nominations, and for us to study it,” pahayag ni Ramirez, Chairman ng PSHOF 2020 Committee.

Ang dating deadline ay sa katapusan ng buwan ng Nobyembre.
Iginiit din ni Ramirez na dahil sa kasalukuyang ‘safety and health’ protocol na ipinapatupad ng pamahalaan, posibleng gawin na lamang virtual ang awarding ceremony.
“We have to make proper adjustments to ensure the safety of everyone,” aniya.
Kasama ni Ramirez sa Board sina Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Abraham Mitra, Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Secretary-General Atty. Edwin Gastanes, Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines Secretary-General Atty. Avelino Sumagui, University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Executive Director Atty. Rene Saguisag Jr., at Philippine Olympians Association President Akiko Thomson Guevara.
Nakabatay sa Republic Act No. 8757 o ang Philippine Sports Hall of Fame Act, ang pagbibigay parangal at papuri sa mga atletang Pinoy, coaches at trainers na nagpamalas nang kakaibang husay at galling sa international scene sa kanyang nasasakupang sports.
Kabilang sa mga naunang recipients ng parangal sina Filipino Boxing legend Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, Asia’s First Chess Grandmaster Eugene Torre, Asia’s Fastest Woman Lydia de Vega, at Bowling World champions Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno at Olivia “Bong” Coo.
