HINIKAYAT ni Pope Francis ang mga young Catholic entrepreneurs na mag-develop ng bago, at mas maayos na economic model na makapagsasalba sa isang napabayaang planeta habang tumutulong sa mga mahihirap at napag-iwanan.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa pamamagitan ng isang video message para sa virtual meeting of young business leaders, hinikayat ng Santo Papa ang mga dumalo na gumawa ng malaking pagbabago sa global economic relationships.
“You recognize the urgent need for a different economic narrative,” pahayag ng Santo Papa na isinalin sa Ingles.
“The present world system is certainly unsustainable from a number of points of view and is harming our sister earth, so gravely maltreated and despoiled, together with the poor and the excluded in our midst,” paliwanag ni Pope Francis.
Binigyang-diin din niya na dulot ng coronavirus epidemic natutong maisip ng mga tao ang sitwasyong kinalalagyan ng mundo.
“Once the present health crisis has passed, the worst reaction would be to fall even more deeply into feverish consumerism,” dagdag pa niya.
Madalas batikusin ng Santo Papa ang kapitalismo, na inaakusahan niya ng pagpapalaganap ng social inequality at nagdudulot ng pagkaubos sa natural resources ng planeta.
Pinayuhan din ni Pope Francis ang mga young business leaders at academics mula sa 115 bansa “ to give birth to an economic culture” na nagsusulong ng tiwala at lumilikha ng resources “that will enlighten minds, warm hearts” at nagbibigay “to all young people, with no one excluded — a vision of the future.”
