Iginiit ni Senator Leila de lima na sa loob ng limang taon sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay patuloy ang paglabag sa mga karapatang-pantao sa bansa.
Ang obserbasyon ni De lima ay batay na rin sa ulat ng Amnesty International (AI) na patuloy ang persekusyon, pamamaslang sa mga kritiko ng administrasyon at patuloy din ang extra judicial killings at tanim at ebidensya,
“Duterte has cast the net of his human rights abuses and violations even wider when, in addition to EJKs under the guise of a “war on drugs” since 2016, his regime persecutes and even kills critics, activists and journalists and harasses the media and freedom of expression to weaken opposition and dissent,” sabi pa ng senador.
