NAIS ni POC presidential hopeful Clint Aranas na maghain ng kaso laban sa mga miyembro ng Philippine Olympic Committee na kasama sa 2019 SEA Games organizing committee.

Manalo man o matalo sa halalahan na nakatakda sa Nobyembre 27, sinabi ni Aranas, pangulo ng Philippine Archery Federation, na pangungunahan niya ang paghahain ng mga kaso laban sa mga miyembro na bahagi ng Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC).

Aniya, ang mga kasapi ng POC na bahagi ng PHISGOC board, ay hindi tumutupad sa kanilang tungkulin na magsumite ng audited report tungkol sa pagsasagawa ng 2019 Southeast Asian Games sa bansa 10 buwan ang nakalilipas.

“I am ready to file a case and I’m readying my legal team on this,” ani Aranas. “Majority of the members of the board are seriously looking at filing charges to the POC members who entered into the agreement. No one is asking PHISGOC to do anything.”

Ang kaso ay batay sa tripartite agreement na nilagdaan nina Philippine Sports Commission chairman William Ramirez, PHISGOC president Ramon Suzara at POC president Bambol Tolentino noong Agosto 13, 2019.

Nilabag umano ng POC members ang Article 1 ng kasunduan hinggil sa mga tungkulin at responsibilidad ng mga partido. Kabilang aniya sa mga responsibilidad ng POC “is to oversee that PHISGOC accounts for all the necessary expenses, including sponsorship, donations and the liquidation of government support in accordance with relevant government rules and regulations.”

Iginiit ni Aranas na dapat magbigay ng financial records ang PHISGOC at sila (POC representatives) ay dapat maglahad ng lahat ng ito. “Unfortunately, this never happened,” aniya

Sinabi naman ni Tolentino na nasa proseso na ang lahat at hiniling na bigyan ng sapat na panahon ang PHILSOC para tapusin ang kanilang liquidation report.

“The Seagames organizing committee has its own accountability and I believe that it is just and equitable the way we have successfully conducted the southeast asian games. Of course, everyone is looking forward to a clean and fair financial accounts, however, I am not attempting to put more burden on the accounting. On the reason of the delay, I am confident that it will be submitted in due time and I have patience on sensitive matters as such in order to have an orderly accounting,” aniya.
