Tutol si Senator Sherwin Gatchalian sa balak ng Department of Education (DepEd) na magkaroon ng face-to-face classes sa mga lugar na ligtas pa sa corona virus, dahil malalagya din daw sa peligro ang mga estudyantem guro at maging ang kanilang mga pamilya.
“I strongly urge the Department of Education to continue with the distance learning modality and suspend face-to-face classes this coming August 24, This is to protect our learners, parents, and teachers from the possibility of infection from the COVID-19 virus,” ani Gatchalian.
Nauna rito ay sinuportahan ng Pangulo ang panukala ni DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones na magkaroon ng limitadong face to facw classes sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
