NAGPULONG kahapon ang Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Executive Board upang talakayin at resolbahin ang tatlong susog (amendments) sa Constitution nito na inihanda ng isang Technical Working Group (TWG) sa pamumuno ni Atty. Al Agra.
Kinumpirma ni Cavite Rep. Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino, pangulo ng POC, na tatlong beses nang nirepaso ng POC ang naturang isyu at inirekomenda ng Committee on Constitutional Amendments sa ilalim ni ABAP president Ricky Vargas.
Ayon kay Tolentino, inendorso ng komite ni Vargas ang mga amendments para makasama sa Executive Board agenda.
“By-Laws may be amended by 2/3 of the Executive Board and thereafter by the General Assembly of the POC convened especially for that purpose with the provision that at least 2/3 of the voting members shall attend and that the decision shall be made by at least 2/3 of the voting members present…any such amendments shall be effective and binding only upon the approval of the IOC,” pahayag ni Tolentino.

Ang TWG ay binubuo ng tatlong abogado na nagprepara sa mga susog, na ni- review nang tatlong beses ng IOC bago pinagtibay ang final draft ng Vargas’ committee.
Ang Executive Board ay kinabibilangan nina chairman Steve Hontiveros, president Tolentino, first vice president Joey Romasanta, second vice president Jeff Tamayo, secretary-general Edwin Gastanes, treasurer Julian Camacho, auditor Jonne Go at mga miyembro na sina Clint Aranas, Cynthia Carrion, Rep. Butch Pichay, Robert Mananquil, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski at dating president Vargas. Sina IOC honorary member Frank Elizalde at deputy secretary-general Mayor Richard Gomez, non-voting members ng Board.
Ang tatlong mahahalagang amendments ay nagtatakda sa edad o age limit na 70 anyos para sa mga posisyon sa POC, paghihigpit sa POC officers na kumatawan lang sa isang NSA, at pagre-require sa NSA na kilalanin ito ng International Federation (IF) bago maging miyembro. Kabilang sa mga miyembro ng Executive Board na apektado ng edad o age limit ay sina Hontiveros, 75, Romasanta, 75, at Camacho, 76.
Mapipilitan naman si Congressman Tolentino, 56, na bitiwan ang NSA position dahil siya ay kasalukuyang pangulo ng cycling at secretary general ng chess kapag ang mga susog ay napagtibay. Bert de Guzman
