Inanunsyo ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar nitong Miyerkules na nagpositibo siya sa l coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“I regret to announce that today, July 15, I received my test result and it is positive for COVID-19,” lahad niya sa isang Facebook post.
Kinumpirma rin ito ng iba pang opisyal ng DPWH.
Pinangunahan ni Villar ang contract signing at ground breaking ng CAVITEX nitong Hulyo 10. Nanguna rin siya sa unang drive-thru event para sa pagbubukas ng isang bahagi ng Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) nitong Hulyo 3.

Sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque na kasama siya ni Villar nitong Hulyo 10 para sancontract signing at sa ground breaking event. Sumailalim na siya sa swab test at negatibo ang lumabas na resulta kahapon.
“I was with him last Friday for the contract signing and groundbreaking of CAVITEX segments 2A and 3A. Fortunately, I had a drive-thru swab yesterday” ani Roque.
“I am pleased to announce that the results of my RT-PCR Test conducted yesterday in Taguig City yielded a negative result,” pahayag niya matapos lumabas ang resulta ng kanyang swab test nitong Miyerkules ng hapon.
Si Villar, namumuno sa implementasyon ng COVID-19 related projects at ng "Build, Build, Build" projects, ay inilagay na sa quarantine.
Tiniyak naman ng DPWH na hindi maantala ang kanilang infrastructure projects. Si Undersecretary Emil Sadain ang namumuno sa DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Healthcare Facilities habang sinUndersecretary Rafael Yabut chairs the DPWH COVID-19 Coordination Committee.
Si Villar ang pangatlong Cabinet member na nahawaan ng COVID-19 kasunod nina Interior Secretary Eduardo Año at Education Secretary Leonor Briones na parehong gumaling na sa sakit.
