IPINANUKALA ng House Committee on Games and Amusement na ibalik ang operasyon ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) sa pamamagitan ng interactive at mobile lotteries.
Ayon kay Ang Probinsiyano Party-list Rep. Ronnie Ong, Vice Chairman ng naturang Committee, nalulugi ang gobyerno ng P3.75 bilyon kada buwan o P125 milyon bawat araw sapul nang itigil ng PCSO operasyon dahil sa Covid-19 pandemic.
Aniya, dahil sa pagtigil ng operasyon ng PCSO, tumigil din ang pagkalap nito ng pondo kung saan malaking bahagi nito ay ibinibigay sa mga institusyon gayundin sa sports.
Itinigil ng ahensiya ang land-based lottery activities gaya ng Sweepstakes, Scratch-it, at Small Town Lottery bunsod ng ipinatupad na Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Akari Sports wala pang balak pasukin ang PBA
Sa pamamagitan ng interactive at mobile lottery games, makalilikom na muli ng kinakailangang cash o pondo para suportahan ang pamahalaan sa relief efforts at ayuda sa libu-libong Pilipino na nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa ECQ.
“Interactive and mobile lottery games can actually be very timely at this time because of the ECQ. Many people are in their homes doing nothing. Instead of wasting money on some online games to fight boredom, they can actually support PCSO lotteries as their way of contributing in the war effort against this unseen enemy,” pahayag ni Ong.
