BINIGYANG-DIIN ng Philippine Army ang gampanin ng interfaith dialogue para sa pagwawakas ng lokal na rebelyon sa mga komunidad ng Agusan del Sur.

Nitong nakaraang Linggo, nagdaos ang 3rd Special Forces Battalion (3SFBn) ng Army ng isang interfaith dialogue kasama ang mga religious leaders na isinagawa sa Barangay Noli, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.

Sa pagbabahagi ni 1 Lt. Krisjuper Andreo J. Punsalan, civil-military operations (CMO) officer ng 3SFBn, tinalakay umano sa aktibidad ang gampanin ng mga relihiyon sa implementasyon ng mga probisyon ng Executive Order No. 70, na nagtatatag sa “whole-of-nation” approach para sa End Local Communist Armed Conflicts (ELCAC).

Sinabi ni Punsalan na 17 kinatawan mula sa Simbahang Katoliko, Islam, United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), the Seventh-day Adventist Church, at Iglesia Filipino Independiente (IFI) ang dumalo sa pagtitipon.

Dinaluhan din ang aktibidad ni Lt. Col. Joey Baybayan, ang commander ng 3SFBn, at ni Lt. Col. Sahisa Adzramen, Islamic Chaplain ng Army’s 4th Infantry Division.

“The participants were given orientation on EO 70 as a peaceful concept to end any armed conflicts in communities by focusing on peace and development interventions in conflict-affected areas,” ani Punsalan.

Hinikayat din ang mga lumahok na makibahagi sa proseso ng pagtulong sa mga dating rebelde sa pamamagitan ng values formation at pagtutuwid sa “spiritual dimensions to denounce violence in resolving conflicts.”

“The members of the religious sector were also urged to help in the promotion of family and reconciliation, and the conduct of intensified information drives among the youth to protect the religious and other faith-based organizations from the communist infiltration and recruitment,” dagdag pa ni Punsalan.

Sa isang pahayag, binanggit din ng 3SFBn ang mensahe ni Lt. Col. Adzramen sa mga kalahok na: “A true religious leader who believes in God leads his followers to the path of peace and the goodness of life.”

Hinikayat din ni Adzramen ng mga religious leaders na dumalo na maging aktibo sa pakikilahok sa iba’t ibang aktibidad sa kanilang komunidad, na idinesenyo upang magdala ng kapayapaan at pag-unlad sa mga residente.

Sa kanyang mensahe sa mga lider ng relihiyon, binigyang-diin ni Lt. Col. Baybayan ang pagsusulong ng reconciliation upang mawakasan ang armadong kagulugan at maiwasan ang pagkawala ng maraming buhay.

“We hope that you could help us promote peace and reconciliation to induce more peaceful surrenders. The country has already suffered enough and as the President (Rodrigo R. Duterte) said, we cannot afford to pass this communist armed conflict to the next generations,” ani Baybayan.
