Bukasna, Sabado, ang pinakahihintay na opening ceremonies ng 30th South East Asian (SEA) Games 2019, na magaganap sa Philippine Arena sa Bocaue, Bulacan. Makakaasa ang wiewers sa Asia at iba pang dako ng mundo ng magandang presentation na magbibigay-diin sa superb talent at contemporary culture ng mga Pinoy.
Nasa Philippine Arena kami last Tuesday evening at nabigyan ng pagkakataon na mapanood ang dress rehearsal na inabot ng one hour and half. Itinampok dito ang four production numbers na magpapakita ng mga sayaw natin sa iba’t ibang lugar ng bansa, kasama ang kilalang si Ramon Obusan at ang kanyang Folkloric Group sa dance groups and squads mula sa iba’t ibang colleges and universities in Metro Manila.
Ang Palanca-award-winning writer na si Floy Quintos ang creative director ng SEAGAMES 2019 Opening Ceremonies.
Kabilang sa performers sina Lani Misalucha, Christian Bautista, Aicelle Santos, Jed Madela, Elmo Magalona, KZ Tandingan, Iñigo Pascual, The TNT Boys, Ana Fegi, Robert Seña, at ang international rap artist na si Apl d Ap. Ang parade of athletes ay sasamahan ng 11 beauty queens as muse ng bawat bansa na kasali sa kumpetisyon, Pangungunahan sila ni 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach bilang muse ng Pilipinas at Miss World 2013 Megan Young bilang muse ng Indonesia.

Ang production team ay mix ng artists and professionals from our local industry at ang US-based Emmy award-winning na Five Currents na nakapag-produce na ng top live sports ceremonies tulad ng Los Angeles 2015 Special Olympics, Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, London 2012 Summer Olympics, and Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games.
Bukod kina Floy Quintos at Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, kasama nila sina Five Currents’ creative director Libby Hyland, Five Currents president, producer Scott Givens, director Simon Francis, musical arrangers Nikko Rivera at Jimmy Antiporda, music producer Eloisa Matias, costume designers Eric Pineda, Mitoy Sta. Ana at Maxi Cinco, choreographers Dexter Santos at Cherry Villanueva. Ang Filipino companies na Video Sonic at Stage Craft International Inc. ang magpu-provide ng technical support sa staging ng programa.
Impressed sa kanila si Ms. Hyland na nakita na raw niya ang iba’t ibang presentation sa mga ceremonies pero sabi niya: “this is the highlight of my career.” At sa mga Pinoys na kasama niya: “You have such a deep and rich and beautiful culture and a beautiful people...” Pinuri rin ni Ms. Hyland si Philippine South East Asian Games Organizing Committee Director for Ceremonies and Cultural Events Mr. Mike Aguilar.
Ang opening ceremonies ay live, exclusive na mapapanood bukas at exactly 7:00 pm, sa ABS-CBN.
