Nananawagansi Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle sa media na palakasin pa ang pagbabalita ng mga positibong istorya at “be more zealous in proclaiming the Good News.”

Hinikayat ng Kanyang Kabunyian ang news agencies na pagtuunan ang “constructive and positive forms of communication that promotes hope instead of highlighting bad news that fan fear and negativism.”

Nagsalita kamakailan sa Catholic Mass Media Awards, umapela si Tagle sa media practitioners na huwag i-“glamorize” ang kasamaan.

“Sometimes unwittingly or unconsciously, our way of presenting evil present in our society glamorizes the very evil that we want to denounce,” dagdag niya.

“Pope Francis, in a message for World Communications Day, called for a more positive form of communication, one that inspires and instills hope,” ani Tagle.

Sinabi ng cardinal na bilang mga tagasunod ni Jesus ay dapat na maging pursigido tayo sa pagpoproklama ng Mabuting Balita.

“If the good news is too boring to report, then does the Gospel which is Good News have a place in communication? As believers in Jesus who has triumphed over sin and death, we should be more zealous in proclaiming the Good News,” diin niya.

Inorganisa ng Archdiocese of Manila noong 1978, layunin ng CMMA na bigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng mass media at ikintal ang sense of responsibility sa communicators.
