Ito ang siniguro ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Otsuka-Solar Philippines Incorporated matapos lagdaan ang memorandum of agreement (MOA) para maging ‘Official Drink’ ng Philippine Team ang Pocari Sweat.

Nilagdaan nina PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram, Otsuka-Solar Philippines president Kohei Oyamada at Philippine National Anti-Doping Organization (PHINADO) chairman Dr. Alejandro Pineda ang kasunduan kahapon sa payak na programa sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

“We’re grateful with the support of Otsuka-Solar Philippines Incorporated to Filipino athletes. Through the recommendation of PHINADO, led by Dr. Pineda, Pocari Sweat is now the official drink for members of the National Team under the Philippine Sports Commission,” pahayag ni Kiram.

“Makasisiguro tayo na ang iinumin ng ating mga atleta, ang Pocari Sweat ay ligtas at walang sangkap na makasisira sa kalusugan ng ating mga atleta.Nagpapasalamat kami sa suporta ng Pocari Sweat. We need support from private corporations. We can’t rely solely to government as far as sports development program is concerned, “ aniya.

Iginiit naman ni Dr. Pineda na ang suporta ng Otsuka-Solar ay pangmatagalan at hindi lamang para sa nalalapit na 30th Southeast Asian Games.

“This endeavour is long term program and we’re ecstatic with Otsuka-Solar Philippines generosity in providing wellness and health for members of the Philippine Team,” pahayag ni Pineda.

Nakiisa rin sa programa sina PSC Commissioner Charles Maxey, Executive Director Merlita Ibay, Executive Assistant to the Chairman Mark Velasco, Otsuka-Solar Philippines executives Shoichiro Kurata, Yasushi Masai at Ronald Tieng.

“Pocari Sweat is owned by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, which launched in 1980. It was developed as a product that will quickly and efficiently replenish lost ions in the body when sweating. It is marketed as ion supply drink which is needed during intense training.

“We’re happy and excited for a long term partnership with the PSC,” pahayag ni Oyamada.
