Isang 20-year-old model mula sa Spain ang kinorohanang Miss Asia Pacific International 2019 sa idinaos na worldwide telecast ng 51-anyos na beauty pageant beamed live mula sa Resorts World Manila sa Pasay City nitong Miyerkules ng gabi.
Tinalo ni Chaiyenne Huisman, nagsasalita ng anim na lengguwahe, ang 53 iba pang kandidata sa pageant na nagsusulong ng beauty in diversity.
Si outgoing Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Shakera Akeel mula sa Pilipinas ang nagpatong ng korona kay Huisman, ang unang beauty queen mula sa Spain na nanalo ng nasabing titulo.
Sa common final question and answer, tinanong si Huisman na: “Should you win Miss Asia Pacific International, what legacy would you establish and leave behind?”
Ang sagot ng beauty queen from Madrid: “I would like to say that perfection is not everything. We are unique in our own way and that’s what’s important.”
First runner-up ang Dominican Republic: Canada, 2nd runner-up; Brazil, 3rd runner-up; and Costa Rica, 4th runner-up.
Kasamang nakapasok sa top 10 ang Portugal, Romania, Belgium, Peru, at Thailand (People’s Choice).
Si Miss Philippines Klyza Castro, 19, ay nagtapos sa top 25 ng pageant, at tinanghal ding Continental Queen (Asia).
Ang iba pang kandidata na napabilanng sa top 25 ay nagmula sa: Mexico, Malaysia, Honduras, Italy, Namibia, Colombia, Netherlands, Latvia, Nigeria, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Cameroon, at New Zealand.
Kabilang sa members of board of judges ang diplomat na si Fortune Ledesma, actor na si Richard Yap, Bruce Winton, Tiffany Tan, Kenneth Cobonpue, Jefferson Tomas, Metro EsthetiCo CEO and President Dr. Rhoda Espino, official doctor of the beauty pageant; beauty queen Francielly Ouriques, etc.
“As a pageant organization, we take pride in our advocacy because we believe that true beauty lies in the camaraderie of women - when you see them together and them recognizing their differences,” sinabi ni Miss Asia Pacific International President Jacqueline Tan.
Idinagdag ni Tan: “We want MIss Asia Pacific International to be a venue for the world to realize that women can achieve their highest potentials, not in spite of their differences, but because of it.”
