KUMPIRMADONG sa Marso 2020 na ang kasal nina Richard Gutierrez at Sarah Lahbati pagkatapos nang 8-years relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend at nabiyayaan sila ng dalawang supling na sina Zion at Kai.

Ito ang inanunsiyo nang dalawa sa special presscon na ginanap nitong Linggo, Oktubre 6.

Marso 2017 nang mag-propose si Richard kay Sarah sa Switzerland.

Bakit Marso ang napiling buwan ng kasal, “we chose March because we got engaged, Kai was born in March, Zion is April pero malapit sa March. March is a very special month for us so we felt March could be the right to get married,” sabi ni Sarah.

“Parang everything aligned when we’re checking the dates, checking the availability, parang everything aligned so we decided na let’s do it in March,” dagdag naman ni Richard.

Bakit natagalan ang kasal nina Chard at Sarah.

Salo agad ng aktor, “medyo na-delay po kasi. Ang totoo n’yan we were supposed to get married earlier but then nagkaroon ako ng TV series na La Luna Sangre sobrang naging busy ako, so we had to postponed it. And then after La Luna Sangre, Sarah got pregnant again (natawa), so na-delay ulit. So, finally stable na kami. Si Kai one year and a half na and we feel that this is really the right time so ito na ‘yung perfect opportunity for us to get married.”

Ang isa sa detalyeng ibinigay ay ang venue ng kasal na rito sa Pilipinas gagawin at hindi sa ibang bansa.

Pero inamin ng soon to be Mr. and Mrs Gutierrez na kinonsider nila ang Switzerland kung saan ipinanganak at lumaki si Sarah.

“Originally, we’re considering it in Switzerland or somewhere out of the country, pero na-realize rin namin na we want all our families and friends to be there (kasal nila).

“Malaki ‘yung side ng pamilya ko rito sa Pilipinas, malaki rin ‘yung side ng pamilya ni Sarah dito and ang hirap ilipad lahat, hindi namin mai-invite lahat so, we figured na we have the celebration here kasama namin lahat ng mahal namin sa buhay,”paliwanag ni Richard.

Sa tanong kay Sarah kung ang ama ng dalawa niyang anak ang una niyang boyfriend.

“First serious. Kasi as a young age, I was focus on my work, was focus on growing up and discovering myself so I didn’t really spend much time dating around. I’m the type na kapag gusto ko with someone long-term, so, when I met Chard so I think, he was the one. I was 18 (years old),” pagtatapat ni Sarah.

At si Richard, si Sarah ba ang first girlfriend niya, “Basta si Sarah naiiba sa lahat dahil siya lang ‘yung minahal ko ng ganito and siya lang ‘yung nagpasaya sa akin ng ganito.”

Pagdating sa preparations ay inamin ng aktor na mahirap ang pinagdadaanan nila dahil hindi pala ganu’n kadali ang wedding preps at future wifey niya ang mas hands on sa lahat.

“I think we covered 50% of the organization and the planning, next month I’m taking up my dress and we’re working in the small details,” saad ni Sarah.

Wala nang ibang detalyeng ibinigay tungkol sa nalalapit na kasal nang dalawa dahil abangan daw sa iba’t iba shows ng ABS-CBN at ibang platforms.

Tatayong ring bearer si Zion at posibleng Bible bearer naman si Kai na naglalakad na next year.

Nagsimula ang pag-iibigan nina Richard at Sarah sa teleseryeng Makapiling Kang Muli sa GMA 7 (2012) at inamin ng aktor na siya ang nag-request na maging leading lady niya noon ang baguhang aktres.

Pagkatapos ng serye ay saka opisyal na naging magkarelasyon na sila at nagtatalo ang dalawa kung sino ang unang nagkagusto, pero sa huli ay inamin ng aktor na siya ang nauna.

Ayon naman kay Sarah bukod sa guwapo ni Chard ay na-attract siya sa personalidad nito at halos lahat ng bagay ay magkasundo sila mula sa pagiging adventurous, mahilig mag scuba diving.

“Malalim siyang mag-isip and I like meaningful deep conversation, aside from the we get along well and pati parents ng isa’t isa, we got to know each other very well,” sambit pa ni Sarah.

Taong 2013 ay nabuntis si Sarah na hindi dapat dahil may kontrata siya sa GMA 7. Inamin nito na problemado siya nu’ng mga panahong iyon.

“Siyempre at such a young age, ang dami mong iniisip na problema, instead of just thinking about raising a healthy beautiful boy but then, I’m also very blessed and very lucky na hindi ako nag=iisa while I was going through that kasi I have Chard, I had my parents, I had his family, I had my friends in Switzerland.

“Mas mahirap siguro kung ako lang ‘yung mag-isa habang nararanasan ko ‘yun, siguro gusto ko talagang mag-evaporate, but then I had them,”balik-tanaw ni Sarah.

Ayon naman sa aktor ay hindi niya iniwan si Sarah sa ganu’n sitwasyon, pero kinakailangan nilang maghiwalay dahil nandito siya para sa trabaho.

“Physically, I was here, she was there but everyday we gonna talk to each other, we communicate. And maraming hindi nakakaalam, during that time nagpapaalam ako sa teleserye (GMA) I could leave for 4 or 5 days para pumunta ng Switzerland just to see her para kumustahin ‘yung pregnancy niya and kapag may schedule check-up with the doctor talagang lumipad ako.

“I had 5 days in Switzerland and on my last day, Zion was born, masaya ako dahil naabutan ko (paglabas) si Zion, but in the next day I had to leave (dahil may serye). So marami kaming mga ganu’n moments na pinagdaanan na mahirap pero it made us stronger,” paggunita ng aktor.

Natanong si Sarah kung paano niya nasabing husband material si Richard na sobrang appreciated niya.

“Number 1, Chard knows me more than anyone in the world, number 2, he’s the most loving, kind and supportive. He wants me to better all the time and I think that’s important in a relationship because that’s giving and wanting the best for each other not just the relationship but as individual. Number 3, grabe magmahal sa akin, sa kids, sa family ko at sa family niya,” pagtatapat ng aktres.

Para kay Richard ang na-appreciate niya sa future wife niya, “she’s very loving not only to me but to her parents, to the kids and nakita ko talaga ‘yung perseverance niya. If she wants something, she’s very goal-oriented. Pag meron siyang gusto, she makes sure na gagawin niya ang lahat para ma-achieve ‘yun and she’s also very supportive sa akin pag may goals ako, may kailangan akong gawin, she’s always there, she’s there behind me, supporting me and same thing with the kids, she finds time to spend with them.

At bago nagtapos ang special presscon ay natanong ang dalawa kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng true love.

“May mga kaibigan akong naghahanap ng true love at lagi kong sinasabi sa mga kaibigan kong ‘yun na feeling ko hindi dapat hinahanap. Feeling dumarating ‘yun sa buhay ng isang tao in God’s time. What important is you take care of yourself kasi biglang darating ‘yan,” say ng aktor.

Para kay Sarah, “same thing for me, I think true love comes when you don’t try so hard to find it and my advise to girls, to women is to focus on themselves, focus on your job, your self-love, career, studying whatever you’re into and then one day, it’s gonna arrive in God’s time.”

At ano naman ang masasabi nila sa isa’t isa.

Richard, “I’m excited for our wedding, finally it’s here, finally, I’ll call you my wife, officially.”

Sarah, “you know what’s in my heart but I’m also very excited to call you my husband, my bestfriend, my love and I’m very, very grateful to God to have you and to be able to love you for the rest of my life.”
