“Calvin (Abueva) clearly violated GAB rules when he played in ‘ligang labas’.
Ipinabatid ni Mitra na naamyendahan ng GAB nitong Setyembre 2018 ang Resolution No. 2017-13 Series of 2017 ‘Requiring All Professional Athletes To Inform The Games and Amusement Board of The Amateur Tournament They Are Temporarily Participating In And The Duration Thereof’.
“For monitoring purposes, all professional athletes or players shall inform the GAB of the amateur tournaments or competitions they are temporarily participating in and the duration thereof. They shall continue to conduct themselves as professional athletes and observe the principles of sportsmanship and fair play.
“Conduct that is unbecoming of professional licensees of the Board shall be treated as actionable conduct and may serve as grounds for administrative disciplinary action before the Board,” batay sa GAB Resolution.
“On his action against Jones, we talked with PBA Commissioner Willy Marcial and I told them, kung hindi ninyo sususpindihin ‘yan kami sa GAB ang magsususpindi,” pahayag ni Mitra.
“GAB is mandated to look after the welfare of the athletes. And we have the rights to revoke licensed of abusive players,” sambit ni Mitra.
