Pinagbibitiw na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga opisyal at kawani ng Bureau of Customs (BoC) na isinasangkot sa kurapsiyon.

Ito ang reaksyon nang makipagkita sa kanya sa Malacañang mga nasabing mga opisyal, nitong Huwebes ng gabi.

Sa isang pahayag, ipinaliwanag naman ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, walang lugar sa administrasyon ang kurapsiyon

Gayunman, tiniyak aniya ng Pangulo na bibigyan ng due process ang mga opisyal at kawani ng ahensya.

"The President has been forthright in telling these Customs officials and employees that corruption has no place under his watch. He told them that consistent with due process, they will be given their day in court. Let this serve as a reminder to all those officials or employees in the government that they cannot escape liability or accountability for their acts of corruption under the Duterte administration," paliwanag ni Panelo.

Inulit aniya ng Pangulo na kakasuhan ang mga umano’y tiwaling opisyal at kawani ng BoC.

"Administrative charges over allegations of corrupt practices in office will be filed against them before the Office of the Ombudsman, unless they opt to resign, and the prosecutors will ask for their immediate suspension," sabi nito.

Binanggit naman ni Communications Secretary Martin Andanar na ang pakikipagpulong ni Duterte sa mga corrupt na opisyal at empleyado ng BoC ay pagpapakita lamang na seryo ang administrasyon sa paglilinis sa pamahalaan.
