MULING nagbalik sa ibabaw ng lona si Filipino minimimumweight Rey Caitom upang itala ang ikalawang sunod na panalo makaraang magretiro ng 12 taon sa pagpapapatulog sa 2nd round kay one-time world title challenger Khanchonsak Pothong ng Thiland nitong Hunyo 29 sa Juggernaut Fight Club sa Singapore.
Dating pambatong boksingero ng ALA Gym sa Caitom na muling nagkainteres sa professional boxing nang magtrabaho sa Singapore bilang trainer ng mga boksingerong Singaporean.Ito ang ikalawang pagwawagi ni Caitom matapos muling sumampa sa ring noong nakaraang Nobyembre 30, 2018 at talunin sa puntos si Indonesian light flyweight champion Silem Serang sa The Ring Boxing Community sa Singapre City.
“In the second round, Caitom wobbled Pothong with a counter left. Moments later, he dropped him with a short right straight to the jaw,” ayon sa ulat ng Philboxing.com. “The 37-year-old Pothong, a one-time world title challenger, stood up but Caitom finished him off with a vicious overhand right in the 1:29 mark of the second. Caitom remained unbeaten with 8-0-1 including three knockouts, while Pothong dropped to 25-19 with nine knockouts.”
