MAY bagong aabangan ang basketball fans sa pagbubukas ng ikatlong season ng MPBL.

Sasandigan ang kampanya ng Imus Bandera-Khaleb Shawarma/GLC ni one-time PBA MVP at national team stalwart Jayjay Helterbrand sa paububukas ng 2019 MPBL Lakandula Cup ngayon sa MOA Arena.

“We’re happy to have finally signed Jayjay Helterbrand into our roster. His overall experience, basketball IQ, and leadership would definitely provide a huge boost for our bid in the upcoming season,” pahayag ni Imus Bandera-Khaleb Shawarma/GLC team manager Lou Abad.

“Kaya kayang pa niya maglaro. As you can see, he is still well-conditioned given that he has not stopped in playing regularly sa iba’t-ibang mga liga. He can still keep up with the young guys,”aniya.

Ang presensiya ni Helterbrand ay inaasahang magdadala sa koponan at maghihikayat ng manonood sa liga.

Tangan niya ang anim na kampeonato sa PBA at six-time PBA All-star bago ang pagreretiro sa Ginebra Kings. Tinanghal siyang Most Valuable Player noong 2009 season. Naging two-time All-Star MVP, two-time Mythical 1st Team selection, at Finals MVP sa 2007 All-Filipino Cup.

Sa 16 season sa PBA, napabilang siya sa 40 Greatest Players sa kasaysayan ng liga.

Makakasam ng 42-anyos shooting guard sina MC Caceres, Chad Alonzo, James Martinez, Mikee Reyes, Floyd Dedicatoria, Khasim Mirza, Mark Doligon, Gelo Vito, at Jarrell Lim. Si Budds Reyes ang coach ng Imus Bandera squad.

Bukod kay Helterbrand, tiyak ding patok sa fans ang pagsapi ni actor Gerald Anderson sa koponan.

“We’re thrilled to have Jayjay Helterbrand and Gerald Anderson play side-by-side with each other. Their additions, along with the other players that we have, will surely bolster our squad,” pahayag ni Abad.

“It’s a big win not only for our team, but for the whole league as well as we try to help MPBL grow in terms of competition level and our fanbase,” aniya.
