KAKASA si dating WBA interim junior flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin laban kay Thai warrior Worawatchai Boonjan sa tune-up bout bago sumabak sa isang world rated Venezuelan boxer sa Hunyo 9 sa TV5 Studio, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Ayon sa co-promoter ni Petalcorin na si Aussie Peter Maniatis, gusto nilang ikasa si Petalcorin kay Venezuelan Keny Cano na nakalista sa top 15 ng IBF at WBA kaya magiging parang eliminator bout ito sa Pinoy boxer bago muling mag-ambisyon sa world title bout.

Natalo si Petalcorin sa kanyang huling laban via 7th round TKO kay Nicaraguan Felix Alvarado para sa bakanteng IBF light flyweight title na ginanap sa Midas Hotel and Casino, Pasay City noong Oktubre 29, 2018 at ito ang unang pagsampa niya sa ring.

“The fight we want for Petalcorin is Kenny Cano. He is world ranked Top 15 with the IBF and WBA and Randy Petalcorin is rated IBF #9 and WBA #15, so there is a high ranking at stake,” sabi ni Maniatis sa Philboxing.com. “Richard Pena the promoter for Kenny Cano already has agreed to fight Petalcorin. We are willing to travel even to Venezuela once the political protest cool down to make this fight happen and Cano said said they would also come to the Phillipines.”
