Sinibak ni Pangulong Duterte si Food and Drug Administration Director General Nela Charade G. Puno bilang bahagi ng kampanya ng gobyerno kontra kurapsiyon.
Lumiham si Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea kay Puno tungkol sa pagtatapos ng appointment ng huli “effective immediately”, ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo.
Ang termination letter, na may petsang Mayo 15, ay inilabas ni Panelo sa media ngayong Huwebes.
Magpinsang paslit nagkayayaang maligo sa lawa, nalunod
“Please be advised, that upon instructions of the President, your appointment as Director General of the Food and Drug Authority, Department of Health, is hereby terminated, effective immediately,” saad ni Medialdea sa liham nito kay Puno.
“This is in line with the President's continuing mandate to eradicate graft and corruption, and to ensure that public officials and employees conduct themselves in manner worthy of public trust,” dagdag niya.
Inatasan din ni Medialdea na i-turnover ang lahat ng opisyal na dokumento, mga papeles, at properties ng FDA sa Office of the Undersecretary for Health Regulation ng Department of Health.
Agosto 2016 nang italaga ni Pangulong Duterte si Puno sa FDA.
