LIMANG pelikulang Pilipino ang tampok sa 21st Far East Film Festival (FEFF) na ginaganap sa Italy simula kahapon, Abril 26, hanggang sa Mayo 4, 2019.

Kasama sa Filipino films na nasa Competition Section ang Hintayan ng Langit (Heaven’s Waiting) ni Dan Villegas, Miss Granny ni Bb. Joyce Bernal, Eerie ni Mikhail Red, at Signal Rock ni Chito S. Roño. Ang Nunal sa Tubig (A Speck in the Water) naman ni Ishmael Bernal ay magkakaroon ng world premiere sa Restored Classics section.

Sa tulong ng International Film Festival Assistance Program (IFFAP) ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), makatatanggap ng suporta ang mga piling pelikula para sa kanilang pagsali sa festival.

“We are always glad that we could be of assistance to our very own filmmakers who made it to international film festivals to represent Philippine cinema,” sabi ni FDCP Chairperson-CEO Liza Diño.

“Last year, the Philippines was chosen as the Country of Focus in the Far East Film Festival as part of the celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema, and we are pleased that the festival continues to showcase different voices from around the world by including Filipino films in their lineup this year.”

Samantala, dalawang Filipino film projects naman ang kasama sa 15 titles na pinili ng Focus Asia para sa All Genres Project Market ng 21st Far East Film Festival. Kabilang rito ang Focus Asia Award winner sa Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) na The Grandstand, na idinirek ni Mikhail Red at produced ni Pauline Zamora; at ang coming-of-age drama na Everybody Leaves na idinirek ni Phyllis Grae Grande at produced ni Alemberg Ang.

Magkakaroon ang film projects na ito ng opportunities para mag-co-produce at co-finance sa Europa at Asya at maitanghal sa panels, one-to-one meetings, at screenings sa mahigit 200 industry professionals.

Iso-showcase rin ang Babylon na idinirek ni Keith Deligero at produced ni Thipsena Supatcha mula sa Thailand; at ang Lyndel Gale Osorio sa Ties That Bind, isang Asia-Europe co-production workshop. Ang napiling projects para sa workshop na ito ay itatampok sa collateral section ng market at magkakaroon ng pagkakataong makipag-network sa producers, financiers, at distributors mula sa Europa at Asya.

Itatanghal ang selected projects sa Project Market ng Far East Film Festival sa Abril 30-Mayo 2, 2019, samantalang ang Italian session naman ng Ties That Bind ay sa Abril 29-Mayo 3, 2019.
