‘Hows of Us’, may artistic excellence award
Ang The Hows of Us nina Daniel Padilla at Kathryn Bernardo ang napili ng The Film Development Council of the Philippines na bigyan ng Camera Obscura award sa Linggo, sa Samsung Hall ng SM Aura, BGC, Taguig City.
Ang Camera Obscura Artistic Excellence Award ay ang pinakamataas na karangalan na iginagawad ng FDCP sa mga pelikula, filmmakers, at artists na nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa Philippine film industry, dahil sa kanilang tagumpay at husay sa larangan ng pelikula. Ibinibigay ang award na ito taun-taon tuwing Film Ambassadors’ Night.
Ito ang inihayag ni FDCP Chairperson Liza Diño sa presscon nitong Huwebes nang hapon.
Kulang isang bilyong piso ang kinita ng KathNiel movie, na idinirek ni Cathy Garcia-Molina handog ng Star Cinema.
Kasama rin sina Kidlat Tahimik at Bianca Balbuena sa bibigyan ng Camera Obscura awards.
Si Kidlat Tahimik ay kinilala kamakailan bilang National Artist for Film at binigyan ng Prince Claus Award sa Amsterdam para sa kanyang pangunguna sa movement ng independent cinema sa bansa at pambihirang kontribusyon sa visual arts at film.
Kahanga-hanga naman si Bianca Balbuena sa kanyang pagbuo ng successful international co-productions at pagpo-produce ng internationally recognized films, gaya ng Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis ni Lav Diaz, at Engkwentro ni Pepe Diokno.
Nitong Oktubre ay pinangalanan din siya bilang Producer of the Year sa Asian Film Commissions Network sa Busan, South Korea. Dahil sa kanyang achievements, siya ay pararangalan para sa pagsisilbi niyang tulay sa Pilipinas sa diverse filmmaking cultures sa buong mundo at sa pagbibigay din niya ng pagkakataon sa young at aspiring filmmakers.
“Malaking karangalan sa FDCP na bigyan ng Camera Obscura sina Tay Kidlat, Bianca, at ang The Hows of Us dahil bukod sa nagawa nila noong 2018 para sa Philippine cinema, sila talaga ang nagrepresent ng pinakamagagaling na sectors na bumubuo sa ating industriya. Inspirasyon talaga sila,” ani Liza.
Bukod sa Camera Obscura awardees, kikilalanin ng FDCP ang 86 na honorees na ibinida ang Philippine cinema sa world stage sa kanilang pagkapanalo sa international film festivals noong 2018.
