MULI na namang nagluluksa ang music industry sa pagkawala ng legendary rock singer na si Pepe Smith, Joey Smith o Joseph William Feliciano Smith sa tunay na buhay. Siya ay 71-anyos.
Nakumpirma ang balita sa post ng anak niyang si Daisy Smith-Owen sa kanyang Facebook page nitong Lunes ng umaga.
“Thank you for everything papa bear ko. Thank you for being the best dad in the world. I know you’re in the best place now, no more pains papa. I will see you in few days. I love you to the moon and back.”

Bago binawian ng buhay si Pepe ay may mga post na si Daisy bandang 8:00 AM na humihingi ng panalangin para sa ama.
“Everyone we need your prayers for my papa Joseph Smith! He has been rushed to the hospital this morning.
“Papa!!! Dont!!! Please!!!!!
“Papa, please come back!! Dont leave us!! Please come back!!!!”
Walang detalye kung ano ang ikinamatay ng Pinoy Rock Icon pero noong September nang nakaraang taon ay sumailalim siya sa operasyon sa Philippine General Hospital.
Miyembro ng Juan dela Cruz band si Pepe bilang vocalist at drummer kasama sina Wally Gonzales at Mike Hanopol.
Ang mga awitin ng grupo na tumatak sa lahat ay ang Balong Malalim, Himig Natin, Beep-Beep, Kagatan, No Touch, Inday, Titsers Enemy No. 1 at marami pang iba.
Samantala, habang tinitipa namin ang balitang ito ay may post ang second daughter ni Pepe na si Sanya at aniya: “To those who have been asking for information on Pepes passing: We will post details of the wake and funeral plans as soon as possible, but in the meantime our family would like to ask for space and privacy as we move through this difficult period. Pepe was loved by many and will be severely missed. As Pepe would say, Rakenrol.”
