BUTUAN CITY – Sinalakay ng mga tauhan ng Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) ang iniulat na marijuana plantation at nakapagsira ng mahigit 1,000 marijuana plants sa bulubunduking lugar sa La Paz, Agusan del Sur, nitong Lunes.
Ayon kay PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Gilberto DC Cruz, sinuyod ng nagsanib-puwersang La Paz Municipal Police Station (MPS), Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company at Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Branch ang lugar at sinira ang mga dahon ng marijuana na may bigat na 61 kgs. At nagkakahalaga ng P3,355,000.
“Our joint task force uprooted and burned the marijuana plants in Purok 4 and Purok 6 of Sitio Kalampayan, Barangay Kasapa 2, La Paz town, Agusan del Sur province yesterday (Jan. 7),” sinabi ni Cruz sa Balita.
Nag-ugat ang operasyon sa magkakasunod na anti-illegal drugs operations sa rehiyon hanggang sa makarating ang intelligence community sa Kalampayan, aniya.

“We received the tip from concerned individuals that two marijuana plantations exist in the area and so we immediately launched the separate police operations,” diin ni Chief Supt. Cruz.
Aniya, nasa 400 marijuana plants, na may bigat na 25kgs. at nagkakahalaga ng P1,375,000, ang sinira sa Purok 4, Sitio Kalampayan, Bgy. Kasapa 2, at karagdagang 600 marijuana plants, na may bigat na 36kgs. at nagkakahalaga ng P1,980,000, sa Purok 6 nasabing barangay at bayan.
Pansamantalang hindi pinapangalanan ang mga may-ari ng planta upang maaresto ang kanilang mga financiers, na target sa follow-up operations.
Inihahanda na ang kasong paglabag sa Dangerous Drug Act laban sa mga suspek.
“All of them (suspects) must be arrested and face charges in court,” utos ni Chief Supt. Cruz sa kanyang field commanders.
“We give due credit to the concerned citizens who reported the information,” ani Cruz.
“Indeed, when the police and community work hand-in-hand in the fight against illegal drugs, our efforts will yield successful outcomes,” dagdag niya.
