Matapos bahain ng negatibong komento hingil sa kontrobersyal na ‘viral video’ ng pambu-bully ng isang taekwondo black belter sa isang kamag-aral sa loob ng CR ng Ateneo High School building, naglabas ng desisyon ang institusyon.
Sibak at hindi na makakapag-enrol sa Ateneo ang 16-anyos na taekwondo practitioner.

“After a thorough investigation that included listening to all parties involved, the decision of the administration is to impose the penalty of dismissal on the student caught bullying another student in the comfort room of the school. This means that he is no longer allowed to come back to the Ateneo,” pahayag ni Ateneo president Jose Ramon Villarin sa inilabas na opisyal statement kahapon.
“I have spoken to the parents of both students about this decision and have offered the families continued support to help them overcome this difficult time. We are continuing the investigation as there are other matters involved in the incident,” aniya.
Kumalat sa social media ang video ng batang taekwondo jin na pilit na nagpapagawa ng kaparusahan sa isang kamag-aral kapalit na hindi ito masasaktan. Kalaunan, sinaktan pa rin ito na siyang ikinangitngit ng netizens.
Binatikos din ang bata, maging ang magulang nito ng buong komunidad ng taekwondo at iba’t ibang martial arts discipline. Kinastigo naman ang Ateneo sa tila mabagal na pagkilos para maparusahan ang batang bully.
Tahasang sinisi ni Olympian taekwondo star Monsour Del Rosario ang magulang ng bata at sinabing ang inasal nito ay taliwas sa panuntunan at disiplina ng isang taekwondo practitioner.
“None of us are perfect,” sambit ng 1988 Seoul Olympics representative. “We’ve all made our mistakes and should not judge people loosely. But to the parents of the bully, let’s be very clear here. This is as firm a judgement as you will ever get from me. Your son is a failed representation of our beautiful sport.”
Naglabas ng pagkondena ang Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA), sa pamumuno ni Robert Aventejado, ngunit walang pormal na desisyon ang asosasyon hinggil sa pagbawi sa black belt ng batang akusado.
“It has come to our attention that several videos involving a Taekwondo practitioner engaged in alleged violent incidents are circulating online. We, the Philippine Taekwondo Association, condemns any form of misbehavior which includes harassment, bullying, and acts of violence. This is not what Taekwondo instills to its practitioners and is a serious matter that we as an association stand against,” pahayag ng PTA sa pamamagitan ni vice president Danilo J. Mojica.
“Modesty is one of the five tenets of Taekwondo that is being taught to all Taekwondo practitioners from the first day of training. Our association reiterates its objective to teach all Taekwondo practitioners self-respect and respect for others,” aniya.
