Miyembro ng Tarrasch Knight Chess Club sa Guadalupe Mall, nakipaghatian ng puntos ang eight-time at 2011 Illinois state champion, kay International Master (IM) Angelo Young sa final round tungo sa total score 7.5 points sa nine outings para maibulsa ang top prize P7,000 plus a chess set at certificate of achievement sa National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) tournament na suportado ng Artillery Foundation of the Philippines Inc., (AFPI) kung saan nagsilbing punong abala ang Philippine Academy For Chess Excellence (PACE).

Mismong si PACE founding head National Coach GM Jayson Gonzales ang nanguna sa closing rites sa one-day event na pinangasiwaan ni Fide Arbiter Felix Poloyapoy Jr. habang ang assistant ay sina National Arbiters Joseph Gener “Jojo Palero” at Jerel John Velarde ng Chess Arbiter Union of the Philippines sa Nine Round Swiss-System, Three Minutes plus two seconds increment Blitz time control format na nilahukan ng 86 players.

Magkasalo naman sina IM Paulo Bersamina, FM Stephen Rome Pangilinan, IM Oliver Dimakiling, FM Austin Jacob Literatus at IM Angelo Young sa 2nd hanggang 6th spots na may tig 7.0 points.
