Si Young na 7-time Illinois State Chess champion at kamakailan ay nagkampeon sa rapid event ng Asian Seniors championship sa Tagaytay City.

Inaasahan magpapakitang gilas ang mga Bicolano rising chess stars sa pangunguna nina Janet Mercader, Lea Magno, Patrick Credo, Jayvee Relleve at Albay kiddie sensation Victorious Zoe Buenaflor na hahamon kay IM Young sa exhibition match na suportado ni Legazpi chess czar City Councilor Vince Baltazar.

Ang international rapid championship na inorganisa ng D’ Plaza Chess Association of the Phils, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Chess Director Chess Club Coalition of the Phils., na ang chairman ay si Martin "Binky" Gaticales, NCFP Director , chairman ng program at promotion committee.
