Isaalang-alang ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang kalagayan ni dating First Lady at ngayo’y Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos kapag isisilbi nila ang warrant of arrest na ilalabas ng Sandiganbayan laban dito, kaugnay ng hatol dito ng hukuman para sa pitong bilang ng graft.

Ito ang tiniyak ni PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde at sinabing ikokonsidera nila ang katandaan at kalusugan ng kongresista sa nasabing usapin.

“We have to take into consideration the age. In any arrest or anybody or that matter that has to be taken into consideration: the health and age,” aniya.

Si Marcos ay 89 taong gulang na at napaulat na marami na siyang nararamdamang sakit, dahil na rin sa katandaan nito.

Matatandaang hinatulan si Marcos ng pagkakakulong ng hanggang 77 taon kaugnay ng pitong bilang ng graft dahil sa pagkakaroon nito ng Swiss bank accounts, na may milyun-milyong dolyar.

Itinanggi rin ni Albayalde ang alegasyong hindi ito kasing determinado sa pag-aresto kay Marcos kumpara sa naging kaso ni Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

“On the case of Senator Trillanes, it’s not meant to harass. Actually, the Senate is really being guarded by policemen, we have policemen who are actually assigned there, not necessarily for Senator Trillanes,” sabi nito.

Ipaiiral din, aniya, ng PNP kay Marcos ang ginawa nilang pagtrato noon kay Trillanes.

Sinabi pa ni Albayalde na pangungunahan ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) ang pagsisilbi ng arrest warrant laban sa dating Unang Ginang.

“It will be the CIDG which will lead the arrest and if there would be order that she be brought here in our facility, we are always ready to accommodate the former First Lady,” dagdag pa ni Albayalde.
