Inanunsiyo ng YG Entertainment, agency ng Black Pink, at ng Interscope ang global partnership na layuning dalhin ang mga aktibidad ng K-pop group sa buong mundo, maliban sa Asia.

“We’re very happy to work with the largest music group in the world. We will work hard with Universal to turn Black Pink into the best female group in the world,” sabi ni Yang Hyun Suk, founder at chairman ng YG Entertainment, nakasaa sa YG blog.

Nag-debut ang Black Pink noong 2016. Ang kanilang kantang Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, ang carrier single kanilang album na Square Up na ini-release noong Hunyo, ay pasok sa No. 55 spot sa Billboard Hot 100, ang pinakamataas na charting female K-pop group sa kasaysayan.

Pasok naman ang Square Up sa No. 40 spot sa Billboard 200.

Ang music video para sa Ddu-Du Ddu-Du ay pinanood ng 36.2 milyong beses sa unang 24 na oras sa YouTube. Ang mga music video para sa Boombayah, As If It’s Your Last at Ddu-Du Ddu-Du ay mayroon nang mahigit 400 million views.

Inilarawan naman ni John Janick, chairman at CEO ng Interscope Geffen A&M, ang Black Pink bilang “global superstars in the making.”

“The music and visuals are so immediately striking and so different from anything else happening in pop music. We are beyond excited to partner with YG in pursuit of their vision for Black Pink world domination,” sabi pa niya.
