BATID ni IBF super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas na hindi impresibo ang kanyang panalo laban sa kababayang si mandatory contender Jonas Sultan noong nakaraang Mayo 26 sa Fresno, California sa United States kaya nangako siyang magpapakitang gilas ngayon sa boxing fans.
Magaang tinalo sa puntos ni Ancajas si Sultan pero maraming pumuna sa malaking ipinagbago niya na waring nakuntentong manalo sa 12-round unanimous decision.
Ngunit, sa kanyang ikaanim na depensa bukas nangako siyang patutulugin si Mexican slugger Alejandro Santiago Barrios sa sagupaan gaganapin sa Oracle Arena sa Oakland, California.
“The last fight, we weren’t that impressive,” Ancajas sabi ni Ancajas sa BoxingScene.com. “This time, we trained hard and long. We did things that we didn’t do before, and we’ll try our best to come up with a better performance this time.”
Pero nangako rin ang makakalaban niyang si Barrios na tutuparin ang pangarap na maging kampeong pandaigdig.
“This means a lot to me,” diin ni Barrios. “I’ve been training really hard for this fight. I am going to do my best to take this title with us.”
“I feel very comfortable,” dagdag ni Barrios. “I don’t feel any pressure. If you look at my record, I’ve fought plenty of guys in their backyards. I prepare myself for 12 rounds. I won’t go in there looking for the knockout. I’m going to go in there and try and win the rounds.”
May rekord si Barrios na 16-2-4 na may 7 panalo sa knockouts kumpara kay Ancajas na may magandang kartadang 30-1-1 na may 20 pagwawagi sa knockouts.
