GAINESVILLE, Georgia – Nadagdahan ang medalyang nasagwan ng Team Philippines sa nakopong dalawang ginto sa 2018 ICF World Dragon Boat Championships nitong Sabado (Linggo sa Manila) sa Lake Lanier Olympic Park dito.

Nakopo ng Pinoy ang 10-seater at 20-seater senior mixed 200-meter races.

Sa pangunguna ni veteran paddlers Hermie Macaranas at Mark Jhon Frias, ratsada ang Nationals final 50 meters para maitala ang tyempong 50.46 segundo sa small boat category.

Naungusan ng Pinoy ang France (53.056), Hungary (53.158), host United States (53.463), Italy (53.9) at Germany (54.437).

Nasungkit ng Pinoy paddlers ang ika-apat na ginto sa 20-seaters sa oras na 43.481 segundo kontra Czech Republic (46.082), United States (46.146), Hungary (46.791), Germany (48.040) at Canada (50.242).

Bukod sa apat na gintong medalya. Nasungkit din ng Nationals, suportado ng Philippine Sports Commission at Go For Gold ang dalawang silver sa small boat senior men’s 500m at big boat senior mixed 2000m race.

“Congratulations to our dragon boat athletes for improving on their medal tally from their last world championship,” pahayag ni Go For Gold top honcho Jeremy Go. “Despite all the struggle and adversity, our team has come out on top and continues to impress.”

Target ng Pinoy paddlers na madagdagan pa ang hakot na medalya sa pagsagupa sa 10-seater senior men 200m sa Linggo (Lunes sa Manila).
